Aged 18 months in French and American oak barriques, a higher percentage of wine from Rioja Alavesa, provides more body, weight and red fruit character to the nose and finish. A ripe yet elegant wine with extended aging potential that is balanced and enjoyable in youth. Blend: 90% Tempranillo, 7% Graciano, 3% Mazuelo
90 Points! Decantalo The color is cherry red with an intense, strong red bottom, almost scarlet. In the nose it shows hardwoods with coconut and peppery scents, over a subtle fragrant bottom of ripe black fruits and fruit compote. A licorice cedary bottom also appears. On the palate it is fresh and harmonious, but with character.
92 Points James Suckling!
Bright cranberry and citrus nose for such a big Mediterranean red. This has a lightness, too, in spite of the generous dry tannins that build at the finish. Drink now.
Pair with blue cheese, stews, spicy chili and similar hearty dishes. This wine has the heft on the palate and spice to pair well with BBQ with serious heat, pulled pork sliders and “five alarm” BBQ chicken wings.
Brilliant color, with hints of purple and violet. Delicate aroma accentuated by black fruits marcado por la fruta negra. Fresh fruits which remind of ripe cherries. Distinct firestone notes, hints of smoke, ash and graphite.
