89 Points Wine Enthusiast! This bold wine is a promising new offering from Francis Ford Coppola. It has the classic notes of vanilla, apple and butter in the aroma, followed by full body and ripe fruit flavors that are nicely backed by some crisp acidity.
Pronounced Lah-GRAYHN or Lah-GRINE, this cool climate, high-elevation red varietal is a 500 year-old cross between Teroldego and Pinot Noir. The Praxis Central Coast vineyard has similar climatic properties and was the first American vineyard planted to the varietal. The color of the wine is deep, saturated purple with red highlights. Aromas of Bing cherry, violets and dark roses evidencing the Pinot Noir heritage of the grape waft from the glass followed by hints of toasted hazelnut from the French oak. On the palate, flavors of pomegranate, blackberry and cherry are complemented by notes of dark chocolate and mocha on the finish. The wine is full in the mid-palate with a long finish and soft dusty tannins.

This Gewürztraminer is made in a crisp, dry style. To retain the purest expression of the grapes, the wine was fermented in stainless steel with no oak contact. The color is very pale straw with hints of green. Aromas of flowers and lychee are immediately present while hints of spice follow more delicately. The wine is soft and elegant with nice weight. The floral and fruits are repeated on the palate. Although the wine is very dry, there is a note of honey on the finish.
Nervy acidity lends a particularly food-friendly vibe to this light-bodied rosé. It's airy and delicate, rather than deeply concentrated, barely perfumed by whispers of raspberry and rose petal. The finish is brisk, cooling and fresh.

On the spectrum of Pinot Noir, this bottling plays it down the middle: rich, but tart; fruity, yet elusive; dry, yet sweet in fruit. The raspberries and pomegranates have a touch of bitter cranberry, which certainly makes the mouth water. The oak is perfect, bringing sweet toast, vanilla and wood sap to the formula. And the finish is dry and long in fruity essence and cola spice.
All in all, a lovely Pinot Noir, delicate and feminine, super-drinkable now.
